Dear Reunion Committee Members,
I suspect that all of you will get a number of messages similar to this one but I must express my thanks and appreciation for all that all of you did in organizing our 50th reunion. It was a tremendous undertaking which required a lot of work and was a time consuming effort. Margot and I enjoyed seeing everyone and renewing old friendships. We certainly wish that we could have stayed longer and visited more but we just had to see our granddaughter, Holly, graduate on Saturday evening. If ever you get the notion to talk I’m never further away than an e-mail or a phone call. Be sure and check on my choral group’s schedule through the year and come hear us some time if  you get the chance. http://www.wilmingtonchoralsociety.com.

The reunion was fantastic!  You covered every detail and it made the weekend go so smoothly.  I appreciate your hard work and organizational skills because that’s what made the weekend go perfectly.  I honestly think you “elite eight” could run anything, the country and maybe the world.  Thank you, thank you for making this a truly memorable reunion.  And now, go rest. You deserve it!  I hope this message gets to all of you; I am not a computer diva.  Thanks again and come see me at the beach; we have room. Tricia Armstrong Foy

Dear CHHS Reunion Committee,

Thank you so very much for a most memorable reunion weekend.  I had a blast!  I was transported back in time and felt like I was a young teenager in high school once again.

Your hard work on this reunion was worth every minute of your time.  You all presented our class and the other classes in attendance a weekend we will not soon forget (okay, those with short term memory, myself included, may have a harder time with this!).

The barbecue at the Freeland’s was such fun.  It was funny to watch those who had not seen each other in many years try to identify the person they were speaking with…..I asked that question often —   Who are you?  But once told it was easy to place who that person was back in high school.

Saturday at the Country Club was equally fun.  Hearing about the football team’s antics was amusing and all the other tales of our adventures brought many smiles to all of us.  Seeing Mrs. Gill again was a delight.  She was one of my favorite teachers, and one who taught me a lot.  Mr. Ellington has not changed at all.  Scary!

Thank you for all the attention to detail in your reunion planning.  All of the side tours were a stroke of genius.  I would have joined in, but I had some family obligations, plus Kearney was kind enough to take me from one end of the county to the other and I now know who is who and where the bodies are buried…..I learned so much from him and had a ball in the process!  He was kind enough to keep me busy while my sister worked.  Thanks again Kern!

Last, but not least, the brunch was a “drive-by” for me as I again had a family obligation that I had to get to and needed to pick up my sister in the process.  But, that day too was fun and all the food that was there, my goodness ya’ll are great cooks!  Kearney anytime you want to come out here and cook grits for me, you are more than welcomed to do so….they were delicious and one of my favorite things to eat.  I almost had my fill of barbecue, grits and country ham.  I came back there to eat as much as I could hold.  I missed those things so much and only wish I could have held more! Yum, yum, yum!!!

Weren’t we all lucky to grow up where we did and when we did?   I thank my lucky stars each day for that pleasure.  There was such a freedom of trust in one another and no fear of anything.  We just had a wonderful group of classmates.  That speaks for itself by those who came back to celebrate their 50th and those from the other classes who came back to help us celebrate our 50th.  The times were so good then and we were in the right place at the right time.

I vowed that I would try to return “home” more often.  Who knows, I may land back there permanently!  Won’t be for some tome though as I still have some things to do here in Phoenix.

I offer an invitation to each of you to please come to Phoenix and visit me.  You are more than welcomed to stay in my guest room any time.  I would love to have you here.  Just wait until the cool weather returns….it is 103 today however it really doesn’t feel as hot as you would think due to the lack of humidity.

Thank you once again for all of the many long hours all of you put into making our 50th class reunion the best ever.  I shall never forget it.  I loved seeing each of you and only wish there had been even more time to visit.  All of you looked beautiful and appear to be embracing your “senior years” with grace and beauty.

Love you all.

Sally Jackson Corr

P.S.  I would love to hear from you from time to time.
